Description
This sword’s obverse ricasso is etched J.H. LAMBERT, while the reverse is etched PHILADELPHIA. The brass hilt retains gilt in protected areas with the grip covering and wire remaining tight and complete. The blue on the blade is 75 to 80 percent. Decorations within the blue appear to have been left in the white. The end of the blade is tarnished but the entire blade is smooth metal. The leather scabbard is complete and strong. A symbol is crudely scratched into the throg stud. Please check out the photos. This sword was imported and sold by the firm of Joseph H. Lambert of Philadelphia. Lambert was a military cap maker who by 1861 was a dealer in military and firemens equipment. Sometimes with a partner, sometimes not. Shipping $40.00
